Robert Orlando, Cascade Medical Team Leader and CMTF Board Member
Robert has been leading the Cascade Medical Team since 2006. He’s currently employed as a Forester and logging equipment operator with Shiloh Forestry. He has been self-employed for much of his career as a logging contractor. Robert has also volunteered with 2 other separate HELPS International Community Development Teams, involving ONIL stove installations and the Santa Avelina Pilot School’s remodel project. He recently received recognition from HELPS International for successfully completing his 12th mission trip. His passion and dedication to the mission of CMT provides solid leadership along with determination to accomplish the annual team goals.
Tamra Orlando RN, BSN. Cascade Medical Team assistant Leader and CMTF Board Member
Tamra has been assisting in the team leadership along side her husband, Robert since 2006. She is a Registered Nurse with an Associates Degree in Nursing from Lane Community College in 1991 and a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing in 2005 from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. She is currently employed full-time as a Recovery Room nurse at the McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon. Tamra has also participated as a RN on 4 other surgical missions to the Dominican Republic with the Diocese of Orlando based out of Orlando, Florida. She volunteered at the community based, Volunteers in Medicine Clinic in Eugene, Oregon while earning her Bachelor’s degree. Her compassion for the medically underserved enables her to utilize her nursing skills both locally and in developing countries.
Phillip Groshong, President CMTF Board of Directors.
Phil Groshong is a retired United Airlines Captain who is currently employed as the Tenant Relations and General Aviation Manager at the Eugene Municipal Airport. He served in the United States Air Force during 1967 to 1990 and was a pilot for Saudi Arabian Airlines from 1976-1977. During his military service he flew 200 combat missions in Viet Nam (F$C-D) and earned the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. To name just a few of his other non-professional activities include his participation with the Civil Air Patrol, Lane County Rural Community Improvement Council, Lane Aviations Academy Advisory Committee and the Rotary Club of the Eugene Airport. Phil has volunteered with CMT on the construction team and as a McGuyver. He has even designed and constructed his own airplane, which he does fly!
Dennis Schuelke MD, Past-President CMTF Board Directors
Dr. Dennis Schuelke is a retired obstetrician/gynecologist who was one of the original co-founders and team leader of the Cascade Medical Team (CMT) from 2002-2003. He was Medical Director of the team from 2004-2006. One of the founders of Cascade Medical Team Foundation in 2006 he served as it's president for the next five years.
